A00042 - May 2022 Must See TV: PBS: Before They Take Us Away and Geographies of Kinship

This month there have been two additional powerful programs that I highly recommend for Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month.  The first is the story about the Japanese Americans who voluntarily evacuated from the West Coast to work as farmworkers in Utah and Colorado instead of being confined in the World War II internment camps.  I had never heard of this side of the story.  This month I did and it is compelling

The second program deals with the mass adoption of Korean children that began after the Korean War.  The emotions attached to this subject are quite deep and should cause us to pause and think about what has been done in the past and what is still being done in other venues today.

Thought provoking and compelling.
