A00335 - Book of the Month for the Month of October 2024: The Illustrated Life of Jesus by David John Meyers
This is my 70th year and not only does the number 70 have biblical significance
|
Living in one's 70th year has significance as well
Given all this biblical significance, before exiting my 70th year, I thought if would be appropriate to read something biblical. Accordingly, I recently found a book entitled The Illustrated Life of Jesus: Told Through the Gospels, Rearranged Chronologically by David John Meyers. As the back cover of the book states:
"Here, for the first time in history, is a fully illustrated chronological presentation of the gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, in which the Apostles' stories are arranged harmoniously to present Jesus' life as a complete story, enhanced by beautiful Renaissance art and classic nineteenth-century illustrations. The combination of glorious paintings and engravings, and the words of Jesus and His Apostles, creates a unique, gorgeous, and inspirational record of the life of Jesus.
"This is truly a book to treasure and to share.
"The gospels are woven together to create a finished picture. Every recorded episode is here, telling the whole story of Jesus' life and allowing the reader to compare the different versions of each event on the same page; from Matthew and Luke's description of His Ancestry, to John and Matthew's heartrending account of His Death on the Cross, to Luke and Mark's relaying of His Resurrection and Ascension into Heaven. In between, every passage, from His Birth, Life, and Teachings, to His Betrayal, is recorded word-for-word as it appears in the beloved King James Version of the New Testament.
"The stories from the Gospels are enhanced not only by fine art, bu also by the words of David John Meyers, a theologian of deep faith and conviction. The Illustrated Life of Jesus helps to explain the mysteries of Jesus and shares His Teachings and His Message; it is a book that will stir the spirit in all readers, from the newest student to the most devout follower."
