A00392 - Must See TV for the Year of 2025: PBS: American Experience: Forgotten Hero: Walter White and the NAACP

Last night, PBS aired the American Experience documentary entitled "Forgotten Hero: Walter White and the NAACP".

It is one of the best documentaries I have ever seen.  Not only do we learn about Walter White, we also learn more about W. E. B. DuBois, Thurgood Marshall, and, of course, Charles Hamilton Houston, Amherst College Class of 1915, who was the architect of the NAACP legal strategy that led to Brown v. Board of Education, arguably the most important United States Supreme Court decision of the 20th century.

Based upon what I watched last night, I am making "Forgotten Hero: Walter White and the NAACP" my Must See TV for the Year of 2025.  It may be early to make this call, but I can live with making this call.

Subject: Must See TV for the Months of January and February 2025: PBS: Great Migrations for January and American Experience for February

This year, Black History Month actually begins three days early with the airing of the first episode of "Great Migrations: A People on the Move"

on PBS on Tuesday, January 28, 2025.  Nevertheless, I plan on watching the entire series and have made it my Must See TV for the Month of January 2025.

As for February 2025, well, of course, I will still be watching "Great Migrations", but I will also watch a special American Experience episode chronicling the career of Walter White

the long-time Executive Secretary of the NAACP.  I am especially curious to see if the documentary looks into the last years of Walter White's life when his colleagues harshly criticized White, and his African American family essentially abandoned him over his marrying a white woman.  That is why this American Experience episode is my Must See TV selection for February 2025.  It will air on February 25, 2025.

Peace,

Everett "Skip" Jenkins
