 Folks,

The following is my latest correspondence to the College concerning the 2025 Black Alumni Memorial Service.  You are all welcome to attend if you so desire ... and can do so in person.

Peace,

Subject: The 2025 Black Alumni Memorial Service

Katie,

Thank you for sending your list of the recent additions to the list.  I must admit that the number of new additions shocked me.  Indeed, after receiving it, I literally cried. This service may prove to be quite overwhelming.  Prayer will be encouraged.

Because we will not be using Zoom, I have reverted to a more basic program for this Memorial Service. It would be good to have someone with an internet connection who can play the appropriate youtube recording when we reach it in the program otherwise, I shall just use my cell phone.

As for your additions to the list, as terribly long as it may be, it is not complete.  Due to Matt Randolph's research (I had dinner with him in March) we now know of many more Dunbar High School attendees who may not have graduated from Amherst but who did attend for a time.  So those names will be added to my list.  Additionally, Quentin Atherley, Class of 1977, recently passed away. He does not appear on your list.  Further, Wayne Wormley recommended that we add a Mr. Morton to the list.  He was in the Library for many years.  Can you locate his name so that we can add it to the list?  Finally, Professor David Wills passed away since the last list.  I only took one religion course while at Amherst and it was with him.  Also, his career I find to be exemplary.  He will be added to my list.

I am beginning to revise the list based on your information.  When I finish it, I will send it to you and Allen.

Thank you both ... and do take care.

Everett "Skip" Jenkins
